The purpose of our club is the promotion of Carolina beach music and the South Carolina state dance known as the “shag”. The home of our club for more than 40 years has been Fat Harold’s Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, but we have a variety of meetings, fundraisers and social events throughout the North Myrtle Beach area. We are a nonprofit organization, and we are known for our love of shag, our hospitality and our contributions to several charities.

At present, our club has over 750 members, many of whom reside outside the region. The club is a proud member and supporter of the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs (ACSC) and the Society of Stranders (SOS).
