Wow, it has been over a year, but we are finally back in action!! The club met at Fat Harold’s in Ocean Drive and everyone had their fill of wonderful pizza cooked by Main Slice in OD. Thank you, Paulette and your crew, for food set-up and arrangement. The cake was also very good.
A tremendous turnout of 163 people enjoyed the night. John Setzer President, opened the meeting with welcomes, discussed the 50/50 drawing, golf cart ticket sales, and the brunch on June 20 at the Arcade. Linda Campbell gave the prayer.
Thank everyone for coming out as it was great seeing the Shag Club friends. Dennis Brumble and Jimmy Buffkin did a great job providing the music. See you at the brunch!

I want to publicly thank the 22 club members who scheduled and worked shifts at the Little River Crab Festival. This group stepped to the plate and committed to covering the needed shifts. While we had other members, who supported us by coming by and buying tickets, offering breaks etc. —these were the club members who got it done. We sold 671 raffle tickets during the festival. I am proud of the work that this group did to sell tickets, help with tent take down, take pictures, demo shag dance basics and otherwise promote our club. We gave out over 40 membership applications for the club and talked to lots of people who are interested in learning to shag. I truly believe that our volunteers are the backbone of the OD Shag Club. We enjoyed working with this team and want to recognize the work that they did. When you see them please say thank you?

Welcome back everyone! It has been over a year since we have been able to gather and dance at our favorite club. Now, as things begin to open even more, we can start to return to our normal routines we so have missed. The music, the dance, and mostly our friends.
We could not have asked for a more beautiful spot for the Memorial Service we held on Thursday April 2. The sun was out, the water calm and tranquil. Very fitting for remembering the loved ones we lost over the last year. I want to thank Paulette Miller for heading up the event and Linda Campbell for all her help as well. And the many people who helped put together the list of names and contacted family members and friends. Thank You!!! I would also like to thank Christina Cooper Black for her performance. We received many thanks from people in attendance.
Fat Harold’s re-opened on April 22 and the OD Pavilion on May 1. We have much to be thankful for. We have a second chance. Let us not forget those who cannot be here with us to join in this re-opening.
We will resume our monthly business meetings in the back room of Fat Harold’s on the first Tuesday night of each month. Our first monthly party will be Saturday May 22 at Fat Harold’s for those who are comfortable being indoors. Our deejay will be Jimmy Buffkin and we will be serving pizza. We hope to see everyone!
